Horsepower calculated from torque

An engine dyno measures how much torque — twisting force on the crankshaft — the engine produces at full throttle at various rpm points. Once you know the torque value at any given engine speed, you can calculate the horsepower at that engine speed.

For example, if your engine dyno reads 70 lbs/feet of torque at 6,000 RPM, you engine is producing 80 horsepower.

This calculator uses the formula:

\[Horsepower = \frac{Torque \times RPM}{5252}\]
