Book review: The Sentinel, by Lee Child (with Andrew Child)

Reacher is getting soft in his old age (October 2020)

The Law of Innocence, by Michael Connelly

Like the previous book by Lee Child (Blue Moon), main character Jack Reacher’s adventures have become more group-oriented. Instead of driving most of the action himself, Reacher lately has been taking on allies — even depending on them. Whether this turn for the worse is due at least in part to the co-authorship of Andrew Child is anyone’s guess.

It is still a pretty good read, and even an uneven Reacher book can be far better than the best you will get from other authors, but it is still sad to watch as heroes start slowing down.
