The Moon, The Sun

The moon, the sun, have just begun
And I can find no end,
Beginnings lost in the simple circle trend.

What man could be who would not want
Return on what he sends?
What woman, this, who only needs a friend?

Our path, our course, our hist’ry told
The present to annoint
When read again, the future disappoints.

The writer cramps, the singer chokes
The player breaks a string,
And she who hurries everyhere
Denies herself all things.

The nights, the days, the secret ways
The secret love and trust
Leave now a faithful man betrayed by lust.

Beholding eyes beheld the eyes
And beauty from within
To bring it out means starting all again.

The mind can fly, a man can try
A lover could be queen.
Why does she hurry, unaware,
Her love is everything?

The moon, the sun, have just begun
And I can find no end,
Beginnings lost in the simple circle trend.
